Dialogues for Grade 1, Chapter 11

A: What’s your hobby?

B: I enjoy painting.

A: Really?!  Me too.  Who’s your favourite painter?

B: Michelangelo.  Who’s yours?

A: Leonardo da Vinci.

                                                                  

                       
A: What are you doing?

B: I'm going to watch Terminator on DVD.

A: The TV's on the wrong channel, isn't it?
B: Yes, it is. Can you change the channel, please?
A: No problem.

A: What are you doing?
B: I'm reading the Lord of the Rings.
A: It's very dark in here, isn't it?
B: Yes, it is.  Can you turn on the light, please?
A: No problem.

A: Is this your new bike?
B: Yes, it is.  Do you like it?

A: It looks great.  Do you enjoy bike riding?

B: Yes, I do.
A: I also enjoy bike riding.
B: Let's go bike riding together.

A: Okay.

Dialogues for Grade 2, Chapter 11

A: Soon there won’t be any public phones.

B: Why do you think that?

A: Everyone has a mobile phone so there is no need for public phones.  I know I never use them because I’ve got a mobile phone. 

B: What about tourists who can’t use their mobile phones in our country?

A: Good point.  I agree that our country shall keep public phones for tourists.

B: I hope it does.  I found public phones very helpful when I was in Australia.

A: What did you do last night?

B: I saw the movie you recommended.

A: Did you find it interesting?

B: Yes, very interesting.

A: The story was exciting, wasn’t it?

B: Yes.  Plus I think the actors were really good.

A: Me too.

A: All the 3d graders are going home as soon as school ends today.  None of them are playing soccer.

B: I don’t get it.  There is still one hour before it gets dark.

A: I know, but 3rd grade has a big exam tomorrow morning.

B: So they are all going home to study.

A: Yes.

B: Okay.  We’ll play soccer with them tomorrow afternoon.

Dialogues for Grade 2, Chapter 10

A: What do you want to do when you finish school?

B: I want to be a soccer player because I love soccer.  What about you?

A: I want to be an actress and model.

B: Why?

A: Because I’m really beautiful and can act well.

                                                        

A: Have you chosen a partner for the science project / three-legged race?

B: Not yet, but I want to do it with Peter.  Sorry.

A: May I ask why?

B: We always work well together. / We always race well together.

A: I understand. Good luck with your project. / Good luck in the race.

B: Thanks.  Good luck to you too.

                                                                                           

 A: Do you have any plans for the weekend?

B: Yes, I’m going to church on Sunday morning because my family goes every week.

A: Are you doing anything else?

B: I’m also going to my friend’s house and to Daegu.

A: May I ask why?

B: My friend and I have to finish a project by Monday.  I’m visiting my uncle, aunt and cousins in Daegu.

Dialogues for Grade 1, Chapter 10

A: What do you think of pop concerts?

B: I think they’re really exciting.

A: I saw Big Bang / Girls’ Generation in Seoul on the weekend.

B: What were they like?

A: They were so good!

A: I want to finish our science project before the weekend.

B: Okay.  Where do you want to meet?

A: Can we meet tomorrow at my house?

B: Yes.  Is 5 a good time?

A: 5 is good.  See you then.

B: See you.

A: Shall we play badminton tomorrow?

B: Yes! / Sorry, I can’t.  I have to study tomorrow.

A: Let’s meet at 10. / No problem.  Maybe another time.

B: Okay.  See you then. / For sure.

A: Do you like Billie Jean by Michael Jackson?

B: Yes, it’s very catchy.  Do you like it?

A: Yes, I also think it’s very catchy. I’m going to buy it.

B: Me too.

Dialogues for Grade 2, Chapter 9

A: What are you doing this afternoon?

B: I’m going to the library.

A: Can you borrow some books for me?

B: Sorry, I can’t. I have to borrow lots of books.

A: Okay.

A: You’ve finished cleaning your desk. It looks so clean.

B: Thanks. 

A: Can you do me a favour?

B: Sure.  What?

A: Can you take out the garbage, please?

B: No problem.

Dialogues for Grade 2, Chapter 8

A: Did you hear about the principal’s daughter?

B: No.  What about her?

A: She got married three weekends ago.

B: That’s great! How did you find out?

A: I went to the wedding.

A: Do you like cats?

B: Yes.  Cats are the best pets.  Don’t you agree?

A: Actually, I think dogs are better than cats.

B: Really?

A: Yes.  I think dogs are very friendly.

B: That’s true.

A: What do you do on the internet?

B: I talk to my family and friends in Australia on the internet.

A: Do you do anything else on the internet?

B: Yes, I also watch sport and listen to music  on the internet. / No, I only talk to my family and friends in Australia on the internet.

Dialogues for Grade 1, Chapter 9

A: What’s wrong?

B: Mary won’t talk to me.

A: Why not?

B: I forgot her birthday.

A: You could buy her a CD.  Mary loves music.

B: That’s a good idea.  Thank you.

A: You’re welcome.

A: Guess what?  I saw Star Wars yesterday.

B: Sorry, I didn’t hear you.

A: I saw an American movie called Star Wars yesterday.

B: Cool!
A: Have you seen it?
B: I saw it on the weekend?

A: Would you like some help?

B: Yes, please.  I can’t open the window. / I can’t find the toilet.

A: Let me try. / Let me show you.  There you go.

B: Thanks heaps.

A: No problem.

A: Guess what?  I’m going to Sydney.

B: Sorry, I didn’t hear you.

A: I’m going to Sydney in Australia.

B: Cool! Have fun!
